IIM Visakhapatnam inaugurates training program for DRDO scientists, INAS officers – Times of India

VISAKHAPATNAM: Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) scientists C, D and E started their five-day capacity building program on ‘project uncertainty and risk management’ at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam on Monday. The INAS officersMATI NAD also started their six-day training as part of their induction on Monday. DRDO ex-director general (HR) KS Varaprasad was the chief guest for the inauguration of the two programmes.

Varaparad, in his inaugural address, emphasised the importance of gaining managerial skills as one grows in the organisation. He stressed the significance of project management in successfully delivering projects on time. He further highlighted the need to multiply human resources by networking with different organisations, distributed work centres, etc. for the efficient execution of projects. He also noted that AI and autonomous machines are going to play a significant role in the future and underscored the significance of proper technology forecasts and the need to invent disruptive technologies.
The programme director Prof B Srirangacharyulu briefed the participants about the training modules and the programme outcome. There are 16 participants in the DRDO programme and 10 participants in the NAD programme. Dean (administration) Prof MV Anuradha briefed the participants about the journey of the institute.

The program co-directors Prof Rohit Titiyal and Prof Balaji Subramanian also spoke on this occasion.
