Ice Seguerra’s emotional as stepdaughter Amara expresses pride to be his daughter
Ice Seguerra couldn’t help but get emotional as Amaya, daughter of his wife Liza Diño, penned a heartfelt Father’s Day message for him, which he posted on social media on Sunday.
On Instagram, Seguerra shared a snapshot of Amara’s message to him, saying she is proud to call the actor-singer-songwriter her dad, who has always raised her standards of what a man should be. Seguerra also attached some photos of his favorite memories with his wife and stepdaughter.
“Happy father’s day to my papa,” Amara’s message began. “I hate to think some people think you’re just my stepdad. You have raised me and molded me into the great girl I am today. Thank you for always raising my standards in men (and relationships in general) and teaching me to never settle.”
Amara then described Seguerra and her mother’s loving relationship as “inspiring,” despite the many challenges that they faced.
“Watching you and mama love each other despite every challenge in life is so inspiring. Thank you for being the one for my mom. Despite her everything, despite mine, you are our peacemaker. I love u and [your] 10 hours naps everyday dad. Thank you for being with me through everything. I’m so proud to be your daughter,” she wrote.
In response, the “Drag Race Philippines” director said Amara’s message made his Father’s Day celebration “more special,” as seen in the caption of his Instagram post.
“My heaaaart [heart eyes emojis] Thank you for making this day more special. I love you, Amara,” he said.
Fellow celebrities Armi Millare, Sherilyn Reyes-Tan, and Kakai Bautista, as well as theater actor Markki Stroem and content creator Inka Magnaye also commented, touched by Seguerra’s post.
Seguerra is known for having a close relationship with Amara, where they expressed their love for each other on multiple occasions.
The singer-actor, who came out as transgender in August 2014, tied the knot with Diño in California in December of the same year. It is unclear yet if he has already adopted Amara as his own. EDV
