Ice Seguerra has marked his directorial debut with his short music documentary “Dito Ka Lang,” which explores his mental health journey.

The singer, who has been battling depression for years, announced the upcoming release of “Dito Ka Lang” on his Instagram page yesterday, June 20. He also opened up on his dream of becoming a director.

“I want to share something special with all of you. You see, it’s always been my dream to become a film director,” Seguerra admitted. “Matagal ko nang pangarap ‘to but life got in the way. Sa totoo lang, akala ko hindi na magkakatotoo.” (I dreamt of this for so long, but life got in the way. Honestly, I thought this would never come true.)

“But life gives us many surprises and sabi nga nila (as they say), if you manifest your aspirations and continue to work on it, it will happen. So here we go, I want you all to meet my new baby. ‘Dito Ka Lang,’ a short documusic about my mental health journey,” he added.

“Dito Ka Lang” will first be shown via Zoom on June 26 and will be followed by a panel discussion. Those interested in joining the discussion may register through the webinar’s official page.

“I hope you can all support my new endeavor. This is really important to me and I want to share it with all of you,” Seguerra said.

Last February, the singer spoke about the realities of having depression for almost 17 years and how he deals with his condition.

Seguerra described his illness as a “roller coaster ride” where his “bad days” can sometimes outnumber the good ones, but he finds that even one “good day” is “worth all the struggle.”  /ra
