I was sick of cars parking where they shouldn’t so I planned perfect revenge

He said: “I put stickers on cars parked in bike lanes for a month and here’s what happened.”

The man explained that a new elevated protected bike lane was installed in Cork City, and it happened to run right outside a busy casino.

He said up to as many as ten cars would often be parked outside the spot every day, mounting the kerb of the cycling lane.

And when he tried to civilly sort out the situation, the man was met with hostility.

He said: “I had politely asked the drivers when I saw them to please not park on it, I received mixed results of verbal abuse, a man who claimed to have schizophrenia telling me he and all the other people parked here had serious gambling problems are all patrons of the Casino.

“There [are] about 10 car parks within walking distance and some are even 24 hours but when I suggested this it got shrugged off.”

He even reported the issue to the council, but parking enforcement outside the centre was seemingly non-existent in some of Cork.

So he decided to take matters into his own hands with a plan that he described as being legally, morally and ethically dubious.

The man got his revenge on the obnoxious cars by sticking threatening shipping labels onto the obstructing cars.

‘GOD’S WORK’

He said: “So I started putting shipping labels with a printed notice saying “this is a bike lane, please find legal parking” on the cars some of the times I past…

“After a month the illegal parking on the bike lane had completely stopped, so it worked, right?

“Well yes they stopped parking in the bike lane, but now about 50% of those cars park on the footpath opposite it instead.”

Others raced to the comments to applaud the clever plan.

One person said: “I’m no lawyer but you get a thumbs up from me on the moral/ethical side of things. You’re doing god’s work.”

Another said: “Fair play to you.”

And a third said: “Not all heroes wear capes.”
