I was left shaken after finding threatening note on my car – even though I parked in a ‘perfectly legal’ spot
A WOMAN was left “shaken” after finding a threatening note on her car even though she parked in a “perfectly legal” spot.
The handwritten note appeared to be written by a disgruntled neighbour telling the driver to pay for a car park instead of taking a “valuable” space outside their home.
It was found on the car by the woman’s mother-in-law on Saturday in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
The relative was left shaken and worried about where to park in future, despite the manoeuvre being “perfectly legal”, reported the Manchester Evening News.
The note read: “Tin opener available at 81 or 83.
“Next time you need to leave your car for more than a couple of hours, pay for a car park and refrain from taking valuable parking spaces outside my home!!
“Next time the can opener may not be so forthcoming.”
The unneighbourly incident was shared in an anonymous post on a Royton Facebook group.
In response, the poster pointed out that no-one owns the right to park on a public road.
They wrote: “Disappointed to share this was found on my mother-in-law’s car today on Radcliffe Street.
“This person has no idea of the circumstances around the reason for parking there, however this is irrelevant as the road is not owned by either of these properties.
“She is fairly shaken and now is worried about where to park when this was perfectly legal and reasonable.”
She continued: “If anyone has suffered any criminal damage this may enlighten them as to where it’s come from, obviously cannot be sure.
“Please ensure you move to a house with a parking space if you need to park close to your home, and refrain from writing threatening letters.”
It comes after a frustrated motorist took to social media to show a note left on their car by an angry neighbour.
But people have spent more time analysing the neighbour’s handwriting than the dodgy parking.
Another driver also found a raging note on his motor over his parking – and he shocked viewers with his response.
Meanwhile a driver took to social media to share an angry note left on their car by a neighbour.
