I was left a note & reported to council for parking outside my own house
A STUNNED woman was left a furious note telling her off for parking right behind her own house.
Nicci Williams found the note slapped on her windscreen by a disgruntled neighbour telling her she had been reported to the council.
And it insisted the road in Buckley, Flintshire, was for residents parking only despite there being no restrictions whatsoever.
The note, left in a plastic wallet, read: “This is for residents parking only.
“There is a free 24hr car park round the corner next to the small shell.
“Details taken and reported to the council.”
Nicci said: “We parked behind our house on a street with no double yellows or disables lines. Our road tax is paid and the Highway Code abided by so report us to who you like.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous that people think they’re entitled to tell others where to park!
“It’s all the time with the same house. It’s just laughable that they thinking the council will do something.
“We have tried knocking to explain that we are actually residents and we are parked legally but they didn’t want to answer us.”
She added that she considered leaving a pre-emptive note on her car asking for evidence that the road is residents-only, but did not want to risk damaging her partner’s nice car with a passive aggressive note war.
Last month a mum was warned against parking in the street where she has lived for nine years in the same town as Nicci.
Rhian Haf Burdon, 32, was left a furious note reading: “Don’t park in our street!!!”
The mum-of-three told The Sun: “We found the note really funny.
“I didn’t realise a neighbour to us owned the whole street.
“But leaving a note is a waste of time when we have a right to park where we live.”
