I was horrified when a traffic warden screamed at me… I had stopped for a sec
THIS is the moment a furious traffic warden launched into a foul-mouthed tirade when he caught a driver parked in a taxi rank.
Stunned motorist Daniel said he was “disgusted” by the abuse, which he said escalated after he seen dropping a friend off at the train station.
The parking fiasco has been viewed thousands of times after it was shared on social media earlier this month.
Daniel said he was confronted by the fuming warden after briefly stopping for a few moments in the wrong spot.
The clash quickly intensified, leading the motorist to demand: “Radio your supervisor, pal.”
But he responds by screaming “f*** off” to Daniel – a jab he repeats several times as the two get into an intense screaming match.
Daniel posted: “So this lovely Edinburgh parking attendant thinks it’s acceptable to swear and abuse members of the public when they get in their vehicle.
“Yes, I was parked in an area I wasn’t meant to be parked in. When asked for a supervisor this is the reaction you get.”
He continued to Edinburgh Live: “I felt shocked and disgusted that the parking attendance would speak to a member of the public like that.
“I was parked in a taxi rank dropping someone off near to the building fire at St Andrew Square as I couldn’t get near the other side of St Andrew Square.”
While Daniel admits he was wrongly parked, he says the says the warden’s rant has led him to file a complaint with the City of Edinburgh Council.
Council bosses have confirmed they are investigating the matter with their parking contractors.
Councillor Scott Arthur, Transport and Environment Convener, said: “This behaviour does not meet the standards expected of the city’s parking attendants.
“We have raised this incident with our parking contractor, NSL, who are investigating the matter.”
