A TIKTOK star has warned tourists not to get “scammed” when buying ice cream in Italy.
Ciara Walsh posted a video on the social media platform when she warned tourists in Italy not to buy ice cream from shops where a mountain of gelato was on display.

Ciara warned holiday makers that proper gelatarias do not have the product on display in large amounts in vibrant colours.
Ciara, from Ireland, said that tourists should avoid shops that had “mountains of ice cream in unnatural colours.”
In a second video clip Ciara explained that this type of shop sold ice cream that was full of “preservatives and emulsifiers.”
Ciara, who has 33,000 followers on TikTok, was advising tourists to avoid the type of gelatarias that had large amounts of ice cream on display.
Ciara, who describes herself as an Irish creator living in Italy, said: “Do not get scammed in Italy make sure you get the proper gelato.
“A lot of the gelatarias in Italy are really tailored for tourists and you can tell by them having a mountain of gelato.
“But it reality you are not supposed to see the gelato.
“When when you go to the gelatarias you shouldn’t be able to see it.”
However some members of the public appeared to disagree with Ciara’s thoughts on ice cream.
One man said: “I got gelato from a place where it had a mountain and it was the best gelato ive ever had it was so good.”
Another user posted: “There are gelaterias where they don’t keep the gelato hidden like in this video and they are just as good.”
One user suggested the type of gelatarias that had ice cream on display were now out of fashion.
A user posted : “Many old ones( gelaterie) had the “mountain” when I was kid , long long time ago.”
One man said the best ice cream was in Sicily.
