I ditched my boring job to convert a Ford Transit into a tiny home
A COUPLE who ditched their boring jobs to convert a Ford Transit into an incredible tiny home can now go anywhere.
Marketer and coach Marissa, 25, and her partner Nick walked away from the “social norm” of corporate work to embark on a new life.
After securing remote jobs, the duo purchased a 2019 Ford Transit and converted it into a new tiny home on wheels called Roberta.
The van is compact and fully stocked with a Dometic Top-loading fridge hidden under the bed and a super stealth compost toilet.
The kitchen has all they need with a sink, stove/oven combo, and upper and lower cabinet space.
There’s also a hideaway table extending long enough for dining or comfortable working space.
The bedroom is perfectly packed with plenty of storage and an elevated bed.
The pair took to YouTube to post a video of their van conversion after being on the road for four months.
They described some of the pros and cons of a minimalistic lifestyle with lots of adventures.
Nick said: “We’ve learnt a lot about each other. We get to experience everything together.
“Being on top of each other, you only have two feet to move. So every slide and touch, you are basically rubbing shoulders.
“To help with that we try to split up our schedules and to work in different areas.”
He continued: “Some cons are definitely the bathroom. Everyone wants their privacy. We try to kick the other person out of the van.
“We also have our dog. That adds another person into the mix. She’s great, but she can make a lot of mess.”
Marissa said: “Definitely something we do suggest to a lot of people doing this with a significant other is really knowing before you move into the space everything about that person.
“We were together for seven years and just got engaged right before we moved into the van.
“We knew each other very well and had already lived together for three years.”
