I discovered a hidden PS5 SSD deal that’s still available after Amazon Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day is gone but that doesn’t mean there are still plenty of deals to be had after the big two-day bonanza – if your wallet can handle it.

And for those with a PS5, now is the best time to get an SSD especially with prices being more than 50 per cent less than they used to be.

An SSD, or Solid State Drive, can be added to a PS5 to help expand space so you can store more games and media onto the console.

Normally SSDs can be very expensive with 1 Terrabyte drives being more than £200 before the start of 2023.

However, the overabundance of NAND flash hardware on the market means prices have dropped by more than half on some products.

There have been tons of Prime deals on the website from well-known manufacteurs such as Samsung and Western Digital.

But there’s a secret deal that hasn’t been picked up by PS5 or PC gamers just yet – a deal I even picked up myself for my PS5.

The Silicon Power XS70 2TB comes with a huge amount of space which is perfect for all the big games set to come out at the end of this year.

It also meets all the strict requirements by Sony to make sure it is compatible with your PS5.

It needs to be a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD with a capacity of between 250GB and 4TB. The sequential read speed of the drive needs to be at least 5,500MB/s.

It also needs a heatsink – everything the Silcon Power offers at a cheaper price than some deals being offered on Amazon Prime Day.

The Silicon Power comes with up to 7,300MB/s read speed and 6,300MB/s write speed and a handy heatsink so you can meet all of Sony’s specifications.

I picked up this SSD before Prime Day for £109.00 and at the time of writing, it is still the same price.

This is cheaper than the WD_Black SN850X 2TB which is currently on offer for £113. The best thing is even after Prime Day, you might be able to get the Silicon Power for the £109 price if you want to wait until next pay day.

I installed this into my PS5 and it has worked like a dream and saved me for deleting all my games from my console as well as readies me for a jam-packed year of PS5 games in 2023.
