A MAN who bought an electric car to “help the environment” has warned drivers never to buy them.
Ben Andrews claimed on TikTok it took “45 minutes” to charge his e-car but it starts running out of juice in just 30 minutes.

Ben shared his video to his account @benand_rews, racking up a whopping 11,200 likes on social media.
He said he bought the car expecting it would have a range of 250 miles – which turned out not to be true.
Ben said: “The second you go on a motorway it just disappears within seconds.”
He claimed he can only drive 30 or 40 minutes from his house before he is forced to start thinking about charging again.
He added using the heater drains the car battery and he is always looking for a charging point.
After visiting sever charging stations, many were broken or full.
Ben complained: “It’s impossible to get charged.”
“I wanted to help save the environment but it is just ridiculous.”
Fans were quick to comment on the video, sharing their outrage.
One commented: “I’m staying with diesel and will be buying a new one soon.”
A second chimed in: “Totally agree ! just gone back to a 2.2 diesel, £20 year tax, 70mpg, no charging!”
A third added: “I rented an electric car Switzerland on my holiday & it was a total disaster. Ruined my holiday.”
It comes as drivers have been put off from buying electric cars due to a series of problems, according to experts.
Motor experts think that the main problems are the high cost of electric cars and the introduction of the EV tax.
Plus, Ben’s complaint is one of e-car buyers’ biggest frustrations.
Research has found that less than a fifth of electric vehicle buyers would be comfortable owning an EV if they solely had to rely on the UK’s public charging network.
But there are plenty of great stories about electric cars, too.
Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular as UK laws look to phase out the production of petrol and diesel cars.
