I bought a bus for £1,300 and converted it to a luxury home – now we live in it
A MAN who had an abandoned bus dragged out of a scrap heap during lockdown has converted it into a stunning place to live.
Landscape architect Luke and partner Nikisha bought the bus for £1,300 after it had been retired from local duties near Cirencester.
Keeping people updated on Instagram, they had it transported back to their place and began work, deciding it would be a static home rather than a roaming motorhome.
Without the need for a toilet or shower, they had more freedom to open up the space inside.

The first job was to clear the bus’s seats and railings, strip back the floors and walls and re-fit with new linings.
Then they set about fitting new floors and cabinets, plus the timber structures for the kitchen and bedroom.
After that, it was time to give the bus’s exterior a lick of paint.
The bus’s huge windows and the light colour scheme gives a great sense of light inside during the summer.
But for the chilly winter months, they’ve fitted a real wood-burning stove inside to keep things toasty.
The kitchen has a gas hob, main water and a proper farmhouse-style sink.
The bedroom features a raised double bed at the very back of the bus with space to walk on either side.

The lounge has a double sofa and a widescreen TV, and the couple reckons they’ve spent a little under £10,000 getting it all done.
With a toilet and shower located just next door, Luke and Nikisha have been living and working in the bus full time.
However, while they travel, the bus has been put on Airbnb for others to enjoy.
