I bought a £50k Tesla, but I have five things that I truly hate about my EV
A MAN who bought a £50k Tesla has revealed five things that he truly hates about his EV.
The driver owns a Model 3 – the smallest car in the current Tesla range – which has an estimated range of around 370 miles.
TikTok user @londonlaz says that one of the worst things about owning a Tesla is how easy it is to scratch the interior door panels – an issue which he says is caused by how low the seats are.
The man says: “Number five, whatever material they used here (pointing out the side sills and scuff plates), it seems to scratch really easily no matter what shoes you’re wearing.
“Number four the centre console is extremely shiny, so when the sun just hits, you get blinded.
“Number three, well, there is no button on the glove box, so how do you open it?
The TikToker then explains that, to open the glovebox, you have to use functions on the touchscreen which can be a bit fiddly.
He continues: “Number two, opening and closing this (compartment on the console). It’s a pain, you have to do it right, too much pressure and it will not close. Just the right amount of pressure and it will close.”
“And the number one thing I hate about the Tesla Model 3 performance is opening the doors.
“Okay guys, so it seems simple right? You click here (button on the door) and you can open the door.
The poster then revealed that there is a handle to open the door in case the button doesn’t work.
He continued: “You could use this handle, but it could shatter the window.”
This happens because when you use the handle the window doesn’t lower as quickly as with the button function.
The video has gone viral on social media with more than 632,300 likes and 1,765 comments, and users were quick to comment.
One said: “Yeah, such a first-world problem.”
Another said: “The handle is for emergencies, not meant to be used regularly.”
A third pointed out: “You might as well say, “5 things I hate about being rich”.
This comes after a driver who bought a £100k Tesla Model S claims it looks like it was built by a group of toddlers.
Plus, a driver who swapped their BMW for a Tesla was not happy – and said owning one of the US-made electric cars is “not as great as the Tesla fanboys will have you believe”.
