And with a growing number available to choose from, now is a better time than ever.

Anyone using the WhatsApp app on a Windows PC may soon be able to use this neat trick.

All you have to do is type out a colon followed by the name of the emoji you want.

For example, :wave, :star, :sad.

Then a bunch of emoji that match that description will come up, saving you loads of time.

The feature was first spotted by early testers at WABetaInfo.

And don’t worry if you use WhatsApp Web from a browser instead as you can already take advantage of this cheat.

But that’s not all we have to look forward to.

Eager-eyed testers have also noticed that some new features look set to arrive on the Android app as well.

Developers have come up with a new preview for when images and videos are shared as documents.

You couldn’t tell what a document contained before downloading in previous versions, so this could be particularly useful for some.

So be on the look out when your next WhatsApp software update lands, as it could very well have some of these new features.

WhatsApp has already drastically changed how voice notes work in its most recently update available to all.

In other news, the naughtiest emoji combinations have been revealed.

Tinder has revived the classic ‘blind date’ experience with a virtual twist.

And TikTok has announced new rules, banning users who deadname or misgender others.
