Huge loss rocks Brisbane for must-win match
Brisbane will be without Joe Daniher for Friday night’s semi final against Melbourne at the MCG, after the key forward withdrew for personal reasons.
Emergency Tom Fullarton will take Daniher’s place.
“Daniher has been removed from the 22 for the clash at the MCG due to family reasons,” the club said in a statement.

“The club supports Joe’s decision to be with his family at this time and respects their privacy.
“Kai Lohmann has been named as the fourth emergency, alongside Ryan Lester, Rhys Mathieson and Jaxon Prior.”
The Lions will need to reverse the round 23 mauling they copped at the hands of the Demons at the Gabba, with the defending premiers victorious by 58 points.
Brisbane scored a controversial two-point win over Richmond last week, while Melbourne went down by 22 points to the Swans.
The winner of Friday’s semi final will play Geelong for a spot in the grand final.
The AFL has confirmed a minute’s silence will be observed before both semi finals, to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
“We extend our sympathies to the royal family and the people of the United Kingdom during this very difficult time,” AFL boss Gillon McLachlan said.
“Her Majesty was a woman of the people. This was never more evident than when she attended the 1970 season-opening Richmond v Fitzroy game at the MCG, unfurling Richmond’s 1969 premiership flag, happily meeting players and eagerly learning about our game.
“Her grit, humility and devotion to the Commonwealth will be remembered by all long after her reign.”
“May she rest in peace.”
