Time-travelling, mind-bending antics await in Star Trek: Picard season 2 as Sir Patrick Stewart returns to portray former Starfleet admiral Jean-Luc Picard.

The release date for the series has finally arrived in the UK, a day after it aired in the US, as Picard embarks on a journey that will see him reunite with old friends and old foes alike.

When the news emerged that iconic Star Trek villain Q (John de Lancie) would be coming back to cause mayhem across the universe, Trekkies across the globe were elated for the chance to watch the extra-dimensional being come face-to-face with Jean-Luc once more.

Whoopi Goldberg also joins them in the cast, reprising her role as Guinan, following a personal request made by Sir Patrick for her to star alongside him again.

So how can you watch Picard season 2 in the UK? Here’s all you need to know.

How can you watch Picard season 2 in the UK?

The second season of Picard is being released on streaming platform Paramount Plus in the US, having previously aired on CBS All Access.

Over in the UK, the show has been available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

If you are already an Amazon Prime member, then you won’t need to pay any additional cost to watch Picard.

However, if you are not and are thinking of purchasing a membership to the service, it can either work out to £7.99 a month or £79 a year.

If you opt for the latter option, this price would equate to £6.58 per month.

If you solely want the benefits of Amazon Prime Video without Amazon Prime, then that would cost £5.99 a month.

When is the release date for Picard season 2?

The second outing for the Jean-Luc spin-off premiered on Thursday March 3 in the US, with the release date set for Friday March 4 in the UK.

With episodes being released on a weekly basis, this will result in the finale coming out on Friday May 6 in the UK.

How many episodes are there?

There are 10 episodes in total in the second season of Picard, the same number that there were in the first season.

A third season is also already in the works, having been produced back-to-back with the second, so it would presumably consist of another 10 episodes.

Picard is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
