Sarah used a pen to try and puncture the zips of different suitcases like a thief, plunging the biro with ease into the exposed zip of one DKNY case.

She said: “Never pick suitcases with zippers like this because people are literally stealing stuff with just a pen.

“They’re taking their pen and they’re pushing through the zip into your suitcase.

“If you have a padlock they’ll just pull the zip over the hole and you would never know.”

Sarah, who has attracted 204,000 TikTok followers with her travel tips and side hustle ideas, recommended buying a zipless suitcase or one with an invisible zip.

Her favourite model was a £325 Monos case, which she said is “more affordable” than rival brands.

The travel expert also advises holidaymakers to buy a hard-shelled waterproof case to stop their clothes getting soaked by the rain.

She added: “I always go for suitcases with dark colours – black, grey – rather than white because it’s harder to see the stains.

“And I always go for suitcase brands which give me a lifetime warranty or at least a minimum of five years.

“Last but not least, I always go for suitcases with four wheels.”

It comes after another travel expert revealed which suitcase brands most pilots and cabin crew use – and why it’s the best.

A different expert revealed her genius hack which she says airlines don’t want you to know about.
