How to add music to your Instagram Story
And the fun doesn’t stop there – once you have your photo or video ready, you can go wild with text, doodles, filters, and effects, not to mention stickers and GIFs.
But one way to really get creative with your Instagram story is to add music, to convey the mood or vibe of your post.
So how can you add music to your Instagram Story? Find out what you need to know below.
How to add music to your Instagram Story
Adding hit tunes to your Story couldn’t be easier.
First, open your Instagram app, and from the homepage or your profile, hit the plus button to create a new post, and select ‘story’.
Create your story by selecting a photo or video from your camera roll, or take a picture or record a video in the app.
Once you have your photo or video, select the sticker button at the top of the screen.
Here, you will see options to add features like locations, mentions, GIFs, and hashtags.
There will also be the option to select music, so pick this.
The music feature will open with songs recommended for you, but you can also browse the library by genre or mood.
Alternatively, you can search for a particular song or artist in the search bar.
Choose your song, and you’ll have the option to play a certain section, ranging from 5 to 15 seconds.
In this example, we’ve chosen As it Was by Harry Styles (what else?).
Slide the bar across to the bit of the song you want to play, and you’ll see the lyrics come up on the screen.
You can include the song’s lyrics in your story, or if you prefer, you can display the cover art instead.
Position the lyrics or cover art over your photo or video, and you’re ready to share it to your Instagram Story.
All you have to do now is sit back and rake in the views.
