How Fittler relaxed ‘stressed’ Blues veteran
NSW Blues star Jake Trbojevic has opened up on how Brad Fittler helped him relax on his return to the State of Origin arena after a “disappointing” game one snub.
Trbojevic, an Origin veteran with 13 appearances, was one of the shock omissions from Fittler’s game one squad, but has been recalled ahead of the do-or-die clash in Perth.
The 28-year-old said he was always ready to do whatever it took to secure a win, but explained that passion can sometimes come with a downside.

“(Football) naturally just stresses me out. I just want to do well and sometimes when things don’t come off it gets the better of me,” he told 9News Sydney.
“That’s the good thing about these camps. You come in here and Freddy makes it a little different.
“You walk around and do a bit of earthing, do yoga, breathing, we go swimming in the morning. At first, it’s a bit of a laugh, but I think it really relaxes me and calms me down and it’s quite a different perspective.

“Obviously I love wearing this jersey. Whether it be the sky blue or Manly, I’m very passionate about my footy.”
Trbojevic and the rest of the Blues squad will hope to keep their dreams of back-to-back series wins when they take to Optus Stadium for game two of the 2022 State of Origin series on Sunday evening.
