How do motivational quotes impact us?Melody Narouei NewsteadWoodSchool
Everywhere around the world, people go through tough times and what is needed to get past these tough times is an ounce or more of motivation. Actions, words, anything involving the slightest bit of verbal or non-verbal action from someone could be considered as someone else’s motivation depending on the circumstances. Setting your priorities straight and focusing on the task at hand may seem very exhausting or difficult, however, some actively seek motivation and may stumble across motivational quotes. Quoting a famous person who has achieved remarkable things may be a nudge in the right direction for someone struggling.
A lot of people question the authenticity of motivational quotes, claiming them to be useless and ineffective. However, while some do have an opinion, it is scientifically proven that these quotes stimulate inspiration and focus due to the dopamine released while reading. Releasing dopamine helps you focus on achieving your goals and is the reason why you feel so satisfied after completing your assigned tasks.
However, even though quotes are proven to have a positive effect on the body and mind, people may be more susceptible to having a false sense of intelligence and it may slightly or completely alter your views and opinions. Although even though there may be some negative effects, quotes are recommended to be read in moderation as a positive thing. Overall, motivational quotes help improve mental stability and increases enjoyment levels with day-to-day tasks, giving you the motivation and dopamine to continue.
