Horwood House, Buckinghamshire, review
As you approach Horwood House down a tree-lined driveway, you are greeted by the sight of the stunning manor house.
To find out more about what the hotel is like and what’s on the menu, read on.
Where is Horwood House?
The hotel is in a beautiful countryside setting in Milton Keynes.
It’s so off-the-grid that public transport isn’t that straightforward but there’s masses of parking on site.
What is Horwood House like?
The outside of the hotel alone would make a jaw-dropping backdrop for a wedding photograph.
So it was no surprise there were FOUR weddings taking place either side of our one-night stay.
And there are plenty of rooms for all of those guests to lay their prosecco-sozzled heads – 165 in total.
What is there to do at Horwood House?
There’s a great spa with a superb pool, but the real bonus came when we took a stroll around the grounds at dusk.
Hopping around were hundreds of rabbits.
“Please can we try to catch one and take it home with us?” I pleaded with my nine-year-old daughter, Madeleine.
She calmly talked me through the logistics and practicalities and I dropped the subject, in a bit of a huff.
What is there to eat and drink at Horwood House?
The hotel’s own Harry’s Bar has a lovely contemporary feel and the food is excellent.
Madeleine declared her burger “the best I’ve ever eaten”.
My rib-eye steak was perfectly cooked.
What are the rooms like at Horwood House?
We had a deluxe twin room and it ticked all of the higher-end hotel room boxes – wall-mounted TV, free wifi, comfy beds with crisp white linen and a selection of fruity tea infusions.
How much is Horwood House?
Rooms cost from £179 per night, with breakfast included.

Is Horwood House family-friendly?
There’s plenty for little ones to sink their teeth into around the grounds.
