This Morning Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield jumped to the defence of Loose Women after Chris Moyles took a cheap shot at the ITV show. The Radio X DJ guested on the daytime show when Holly and Phil threw over to the Loose Women hosts to hear what was coming up on the show that day.
On Thursday (11 May), This Morning viewers were informed by Kaye Adams that the topics of discussion on that day’s programme would be the benefits of sleeping with tape over your mouth, just like Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly does on a nightly basis.
While Adams spoke, Frankie Bridge and Jane Moore sat on the panel with tape over their mouths alongside comedian Mo Gilligan, the episode’s guest.
It was clear Moyles was uninspired with the segment once it was over, saying: “Good Lord, the guests are on point, but they’ve finally run out of material on that show, haven’t they?
“What are they doing sticking tape on people’s mouths?”

Holly and Phil looked visibly shocked by the DJ’s comments, with Schofield defending the topic, saying: “It’s a big thing.”
Moyles responded: “They are making it up.”
Willoughby also stepped in, informing their guest “Tess Daly does it,” to which Moyles replied: “She’s absolutely crackers.”
The hosts, clearly deflated, then drew Moyles’ interview to a close, thanking him for being on the show.
The same day Schofield had released a statement addressing murmurings that he and long-term co-host Willoughby have fallen out.
This came following claims from sources that the two “barely speak” off camera, and that issues have “rumbled for some time”.
