Holiday park ‘better & cheaper than Center Parcs’ reveals £30million renovation
A HOLIDAY park which people have said is “better and cheaper than Center Parcs” has revealed their huge £30million renovation.
Bluestone National Park Resort has recently won praise for being a more affordable option to Center Parcs.
And the park has since revealed the new additions coming to the resort this month.
The multi-million-pound investment includes 80 new Platinum Lodges, each with private outdoor areas, complimentary electric golf buggies and sleeping up to eight people.
And a former 19th-century mill will be turned into the Black Pool Mill restaurant, serving a seasonal menu using mainly local ingredients.
Both the restaurant and the lodges are set to open this month.
The £30million renovation also includes a 27-acre solar farm to help the park’s goal of becoming net zero by 2040.
The renovation estimates it will bring in another £1million to the local economy a year, as well as provide another 100 jobs.
Bluestone’s chief executive William McNamara said: “All three projects are set to bring a boost to the local community, and being able to create so many jobs from these has been at the heart of driving forward these projects.”
He added: “Guests are set to benefit from these major milestones coming to life as we open the doors to our highly anticipated Black Pool Mill restaurant and platinum lodges this month.”
The 500-acre resort has won praise in recent months, given 4.6 out of 5 on TripAdvisor – which beats some of the other Center Parcs resorts such as Woburn Forest and Sherwood Forest.
Last year, Bluestone even beat Center Parcs for being the best holiday park in the UK, following a Which? study.
Along with a subtropical indoor water park, the resort has the Serendome, a covered activity centre as well as the Steep Ravine adventure course, restaurants and cafes.
Bikes and buggies can be rented to travel across the park, with other activities including science workshops, mermaid schools and bushcraft along with water sports.
And if you want to stay, the resort has hundreds of apartments, cottages and lodges to choose from on-site which are hundreds cheaper than Center Parcs.
Sun Online Travel found some Bluestone lodges to be as much as £500 cheaper than Center Parcs for the same dates and accommodation type.
Sun Online Travel visited the park back in 2019 – here is what you can expect.
