The past two years have been record-breaking for Apple in India. The company registered 48 percent growth in iPhone shipments in India in the calendar year 2021, and is on course to log a record 4.4 per cent market share for the full year, according to Gurugram-based market research firm CMR. Apple shipped a record 5.4 million iPhones to India in the entire year, and 2.2 million in the festive quarter (Q4) alone. Apple iPhone 12 is reported to be the highest-selling models from the company during the festive quarter.
As per the report, iPhone 12 was the most sought-after model in fourth quarter in India, followed by iPhone 11, iPhone SE (2020), iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The stellar performance of iPhone 11 and iPhone XR helped Apple double its smartphone market share in India to nearly 4 percent in the festive quarter of 2020.
Apple supplier Foxconn is reportedly starting to ‘manufacture’ iPhone 13 in India at its plant in Tamil Nadu. Apple started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017 with iPhone SE. Apple had 10 suppliers in India as per its supplier list 2021.
