Here’s your chance to sing “All the Small Things” with Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus at the Avs’ season opener

Fans attending the Colorado Avalanche season opener Wednesday night will get to sing Blink-182’s “All the Small Things” right along with one of the band members.

Singer/bassist Mark Hoppus said on Twitter he will “be in the building” at Ball Arena – not just addressing the crowd from the jumbotron – when the Avs hoist the Stanley Cup banner and take on the Chicago Blackhawks for the official kickoff to hockey season. NHL on TNT tweeted he’ll be part of an in-arena sing-along.

Blink-182 has been part of the Avs’ extended hockey family since singing its 1999 hit “All the Small Things” became a beloved tradition at home games. Fans hoped punk-rockers Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker and guitarist/singer Tom DeLonge would make an appearance at the Stanley Cup parade in June after tweeting a congratulations to the Avs. In an interview with Altitude Sports Radio this summer, Hoppus said he wanted to attend — “I’m going to get arrested for trying to jump on the float,” he said, in part – but ultimately the band did not show.
