Here’s when Apple iPhone users may be able to try iOS 16 – Times of India

Apple is gearing up to host the WWDC 2022 in the coming month. Just like every year, Apple is expected to unveil the new version of operating systems for its devices at the event. The tech giant will likely introduce us to the iOS 16 OS for iPhones at the annual event. However, this year the public beta testers may get the new iOS build later than usual. As per latest tweet by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the public beta testers may be able to try out the upcoming iOS 16 update starting in July and it will coincide with the third developer beta. For those who are unaware, in the last few years, Apple has rolled out public betas of next-generation iOS updates along with the second developer beta.
“iOS 16’s first public beta is scheduled alongside iOS 16 developer beta 3 in July. First iOS public betas are typically released alongside beta 2. That means the public beta may be running behind. Current internal seeds are a bit buggy. Things are still fluid and could shift.” The tweet by Gurman reads.
As per latest edition of Gurman’s Power On newsletter, the iOS 16 is unlikely to get a major redesign, however the new OS may bring some new native apps and interactive options. A report by MacRumors suggests the new interactive features in the next iOS version may be the revamped widgets. Apple iPhone users have been waiting for more interactive widgets for quite a while now. Till now, there is no information available about the rumoured new apps in iOS 16.
When it comes to watchOS 9, Gurman previously suggested that the update may come with a refreshed watch face library accompanied by a revamped Power Reserve mode. Currently, when the Apple Watch is in Power Reserve mode, you can only access the time. The reports suggest that watchOS 9 will expand the features and apps that you can use when the watch is in Power Reserve.
