Helen Skelton suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction during Sunday’s Strictly Come Dancing semi-final.

It was a tough week for the final five, as they each had to perform two dances for a place in Saturday’s final.

The Countryfile star, 39, performed an emotional Waltz to Only One Road by Céline Dion and an Argentine Tango to Here Comes The Rain Again by Eurythmics alongside professional partner Gorka Marquez.

However, her intense tango left her in a spot of bother as her heel got caught in her navy blue dress.

The Blue Peter host managed to get through her routine, with Strictly presenter Tess Daly asking: ‘Is your dress ok? I know it got caught a little bit in your heel.’

Temporary mishap aside, Helen and Gorka scored 37 out of 40, with judges Craig Revel Horwood giving them a 9, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke scoring them a 10 and Shirley Ballas awarding them 8 points.

Elsewhere in the show Wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin was overcome with emotion after reflecting on his Strictly journey.

‘Thank you to everybody. It’s just been an amazing journey,’ he hailed.

But the tears kept flowing as his professional partner was asked why he deserves a place in next week’s final.

‘First time when I met you, I asked your for the trust and the energy and you gave me much more than that,’ she began.

‘Seeing you every day, going out of your comfort zone, and working so hard and giving me 120% every time is amazing.

But, what’s made me the proudest teacher in the world is how you always go there on the night and you dance from the heart, thank you for that.’

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 8:15pm on Sunday on BBC One.
