HCL Technologies opens innovation centre in Edmonton, Canada

New Delhi: HCL Technologies has opened an innovation centre—focused on engineering and research and development—in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada to serve as a hub for its teams to co-innovate with customers and solve complex business problems for clients.

“The Edmonton Innovation Centre represents a significant expansion of our world-class technology talent and exceptional engineering presence in Canada,” said Joelien Jose, executive vice president and country head for HCL Technologies Canada. “Engineering-led digital transformation is set to reimagine the business landscape, and the facilities at our Edmonton Centre provide the right environment for shaping the future of the IT industry.”

The Edmonton Centre will house an engineering and co-innovation lab, which will enable hitech and software clients to not only envision their products but also to see rapid product prototyping, collaborative research and continuous learning to create faster time to market.

Clients can leverage the centre to create new product designs while collaborating on go-to-market solutions. The Edmonton team will be engaged in product engineering, platform engineering, operational technology services and R&D.

In addition to the Edmonton Centre, HCL has a presence in Canada through global delivery centres in Mississauga, Ontario, and Moncton, New Brunswick. The company will hire locally for the new centre, it said.

On Friday, shares of HCL Technologies rose 0.24% to Rs 1,080.50 apiece on the BSE while the benchmark Sensex ended the day 0.13% lower at 57,200.23 points.
