Harry’s ‘blink and you’ll miss him’ Coronation swipe shut down by host

Prince Harry attended his father, King Charles III’s Coronation, sitting two rows from his brother at Westminster Abbey.

The Duke of Sussex arrived without his wife Meghan Markle, who stayed in the US, and he left immediately afterwards for a return flight from Heathrow.

It has been reported Harry was not invited to appear on the balcony at Buckingham Palace following the ceremony.

It was the royal’s first public appearance with his family members since the release of his explosive memoir Spare.

Alex Beresford has since come to the duke’s defence after a critic claimed the British public was not concerned about Harry attending the Coronation.

GB News commentator, Andrew Pierce tweeted on Saturday (May 6), saying: “Blink and you’d have missed #PrinceHarry arriving at #Coronation of #KingCharles. No cheers. No applause. As no one cares.”

The Good Morning Britain weather presenter retweeted the post in view of his 239,000 followers, as he hit back: “Most missed him, but you saw him.”

Social media users flocked to comment on the post, as Becky commented: “Well said Alex. You tell him.”

Veronica remarked: “I saw him. Good on him. Not a day for recriminations.”

Tracy said: “And that smile on his face.”

While Uso added: “Interestingly once Prince Harry made his entrance all cameras were trained on him for ages! Just him.”

Harry smiled and nodded to members of the congregation as he joined the 100 heads of state, dignitaries and representatives of the arts, military, charities and sport inside the Abbey for the Coronation.

He jetted back to California to be by his son’s side in time for Archie’s fourth birthday.

The royal resides in the US with Meghan and the couple’s two children, Archie and one-year-old Lilibet, after stepping down from senior royal duties to begin a new life.

Harry arrived at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at around 7.30pm local time (3.30am UK) to reunite with Archie, who turned four on Saturday.

Archie spent the day with his mother, the Duchess of Sussex, at their home.

British Airways flight attendants confirmed Harry had been on the flight but said they were not permitted to discuss the details of his trip.
