Harry will be forced to ‘bow to Camilla’ at King Charles’s Coronation

Kay Burley, 62, has shared her thoughts on Prince Harry’s hotly anticipated attendance at King Charles’s Coronation this weekend.

The Sky News host says the Duke of Sussex, 38, will have to show his allegiance to his father King Charles III, 74, and his wife, Queen Consort, Camilla Parker Bowles, 75, at the festivities.

Prince Harry previously described Camilla as “dangerous” and “the villain” who “sacrificed me on her personal PR altar”.

However, Kay believes she was not damaged by the publication of the revelations in the Duke’s salacious autobiography Spare this year.

She told Radio Times: “Harry needs to have those conversations in private with his therapist.

“Now he is coming to the coronation, he will have to bow to Camilla. Any sideshow is just that.

“For years, all Camilla craved was the love of the man who filled her heart. She was prepared to wait and finally was rewarded.

“I think she was protected by him all the time she’s been in the public domain.

“She is his first priority. They are completely content and at one with each other, and the monarchy will endure,” Kay added.

It comes as Fiona, the Marchioness of Lansdowne, who was chosen to be one of the Queen’s official companions, spoke about Camilla for the first time in an interview with the Sunday Times.

Harry claimed in Spare, which was published in January, that his father’s wife leaked stories about the Royal Family to the media to bolster her image.

He added she had “sacrificed him” in order to improve her reputation, and accused other palace sources of briefing the press about his wife Meghan Markle.

The coronation will be the first time Prince Harry will see his stepmother since the Queen’s funeral, in which time he released his explosive book and saw his and Meghan’s Netflix series air.

Despite the decision for him to attend alone while Meghan remains with the couple’s children in California, it is feared the ceremony will be an awkward affair due to reported anger still felt by members of the Royal Family in the wake of Harry’s bombshell memoir.

In Spare, he wrote of Camilla: “I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.”

Harry also said that he and his brother William had “begged” their father not to marry Camilla because they feared she would become their “wicked stepmother”.

In another blow, Harry described Camilla as “dangerous” and a “villain” who left “bodies in the street” in her desire to change the public’s perception of her.
