Harry Styles teases One Direction reunion on James Corden’s Late Late Show
The much-longed-for reunion was teased by Harry, 29, as he appeared on the last-ever Late Late Show with James Corden before the comedian, 44, returns to the UK.
One Direction were regular guests on James’ late-night chat show until they went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015 following Zayn Malik’s departure.
Since then, Harry has appeared as a musical guest on a number of occasions after forging a successful solo career with albums like 2022’s Harry’s House.
And during his most recent appearance, James couldn’t resist asking the As It Was singer if there were any plans in place for One Direction to get back together.
After pausing to think, Harry said: ‘I would never say never to that.’ As the audience cheered loudly, James leaned in and gave Harry a high five.
Harry continued: ‘I think if there was a time where we all felt that that was what we wanted to do then I don’t see why we wouldn’t.’
Marking the final episode of James’ show, Harry also took time out to say he was proud of everything James had achieved in America over the last decade.
But while he expressed pride and gratitude towards James’ achievements in the US, Harry said he was pleased that the Gavin & Stacey star was returning home.
There had been rumours that One Direction would be reuniting for the last episode of the Late Late Show but those were quickly debunked.
Instead, Harry and actor Will Ferrell took part in Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts, which sees celebrities either answer a tough personal question or eat yucky meals.
It was during the game that Harry was asked about a potential One Direction reunion – let’s take it as a good sign that he didn’t avoid the question.
On the last episode, James had guests such as Adele and Tom Cruise join him to say goodbye, before he delivered an emotional monologue to close off.
In addition, James also savaged his own mum live on air by making a joke about the amount of Botox she’s apparently had over the years.
And US President Joe Biden even stopped by via video to say: ‘I’m going to miss you buddy. Thank you for never making me sing in a car.’
As if that wasn’t enough, Hollywood star Tom Cruise shocked the audience by very much getting into a character during a Lion King sketch.
