Halle Bailey’s birth chart powered ‘Little Mermaid’ star’s box office domination

All hail Halle Bailey; singer, actress, artist, force of nature and professional mermaid.

Bailey first rose to fame and internet acclaim as half of Chloe X Halle, the singing group she formed in her parent’s living room with older sister Chloë.

The self-taught duo’s staggering renditions of Beyoncé classics like “Best Thing I Never Had,” garnered the attention of Queen Bey herself who eventually signed the sisters to her Parkwood Entertainment record label.

Chloe X Halle went on to tour in support of Bey and released two studio albums, 2018’s “The Kids are Alright” and 2020’s “Ungodly Hour.” The sisters also star together in the“black-ish” sitcom spinoff “grown-ish.”

Bailey takes a solo turn and makes her Disney debut as the red headed Ariel in “The Little Mermaid,” which premiered on May 26.

Originally written by Hans Christian Anderson in 1837, the fairy tale about a mermaid who who gives up her voice for a chance at love (problematic) on land was released as an animated film by Disney in 1989.

Anderson’s original story featured a much more gruesome plot line/tragic ending but the sorrows that befell the OG Ariel are nothing compared to the vitriollic, racist response to Bailey’s casting which confirms crab king Sebastian’s belief that, “The human world, it’s a mess.”

Yet, as the stars reveal, the role is one Bailey was born to play and given her cardinal energy, challenge and ugly chatter are merely fuel for her unstoppable ascent.

And ascent she did. Disney’s live-action retelling of “The Little Mermaid” is made a big splash at the domestic box office this past Memorial Day Holiday weekend, debuting in first place and collecting $95 million during its first three days in theaters, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Can’t stop cardinal

Born March 27, 2000, Halle Bailey is a burn it down Aries sun with a build it up Capricorn moon. This sun/moon combination is prepared for battle and born for achievement.

Cannot fail is the descriptor that comes to mind when considering the horned and determined archetypes of these two signs.

Both Aries and Capricorn are represent the cardinal modality and in Bailey’s chart, her sun and moon form a challenging square. In astrology, the sun is the willful self and the moon is the instinctual center.

The square aspect suggests a frictitious energy between Bailey’s drive and her emotional interiority, between her public and private self, and work and true purpose.

This square creates a persistent tension in Bailey, but from tension comes tenacity and the understanding is that struggle and success will always be braided together for her.

Bailey’s sun in Aries forms a sextile with her Neptune in Aquarius. In astrology, Neptune is the muse poets write of, musicians sing to and artists paint/pine for.

This aspect lends Bailey an otherworldly quality and a deep predisposition towards mysticism, music, psychic perception and creative pursuits.

This aspect also bears the mark of the true good heart, willing and ready to make sacrifices in love and take heroic action when called for.

Apropos of this, Bailey’s Ariel stands for progress not just in representation but in conversations about consent.

Born for fin fame

Bailey’s tenth house of public perception and career notoriety is ruled by Pisces. Symbolized by THE FISH, Pisces swims in the mutable, fantasy laced waters in which dreams are born and mermaids are made.

Add to it that Bailey’s Mercury, planet of communication and Venus, planet of aesthetics both fall in the sign of Pisces.

To summarize, the way Bailey appears, communicates and presents on the world’s stage evokes the scaled tails and mystical spritz of Pisces and its natural extension, the merpeople.

Singing like a siren and looking like a sailor’s dream, the stars don’t lie folks.

Venus in Pisces, a mermaid moment

Venus is exalted in Pisces meaning the planet of love, beauty, self-worth, aesthetics and asset acquisition can fully and freely express itself.

Since Pisces is associated with dreams, intuition and artistry, those with this placement are naturally inclined towards creative and creatively lucrative pursuits.

Venus in Pisces finds the inherent magic in all things and mines for mysticism in matters of the heart. It is big time Disney princess “I don’t see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad” vibes.

Think communing with sea creatures and swimming in the ether. I can’t imagine a more apropos placement for a woman playing the most famous mermaid in history.

Take that, racist trash monsters. Fun fact: Hans Christian Anderson who wrote “The Little Mermaid,” also had his Venus in Pisces and sun in Aries. Fin synergy, my dudes.

Mars in Taurus = Get rich, stay comfortable

Bailey’s boundlessly dreamy Venus in Pisces is grounded in grind by her Mars in Taurus. Mars is the planet of action and initiation and in the fixed and fertile fields of Taurus it is able to do its work with patience and purpose.

Taurus is the sign of material goods and stability and those with this placement put a lot of energy towards, and emphasis on, security of all kinds.

The combination of Bailey’s ethereal Venus and her practical Mars add up to a person who is able to transmute dream states to lived reality and wished for longings into tangible assets.

This ability not only supports Bailey in her life trajectory but serves as a beacon to others and a reminder of what is possible when intention aligns with action. Keep dreaming, keep singing, keep making, keep being Halle, we can’t wait to see what shore you swim to next.
