PARENTS wondering how to keep their kids occupied while on half-term flights are in luck as one airline starts up arts and crafts sessions on board.
EasyJet has announced their ‘AirCraft’ scheme, which is meant to encourage kids to be more creative on flights, while keeping them entertained.

The campaign was created with the help of Art Attack legend Neil Buchanan, so youngsters will no doubt be in good hands.
The much-loved presenter has recorded tutorial videos for children, including tips on how to draw and create imaginative, travel-inspired work.
He is also hosting live art classes for families in the ‘Gateway’ lounge at Gatwick on 24 October.
These will be free to attend for EasyJet customers travelling with kids aged 12 and under.
Neil said: “It’s been a blast getting my sweater back on to be easyJet’s artist in residence for this campaign.
“Art is fundamental for kids, and what better way to get your creative juices flowing than when you’re jetting off on holiday?
“I can’t wait to see the amazing art that everyone creates on board.”
The airline developed the scheme after their research found that Brits’ kids are desperate for more creative opportunities.
Their poll of 2,000 school-aged children and their parents found that only 36 per cent draw or paint for fun outside of school time.
On average kids only spend one or two hours a week drawing, colouring or painting.
Despite this, over half would prefer artistic activities over extra screen time, while 77 per cent say art is one of their favourite school subjects.
Yet almost two thirds say they lack the confidence to know how to draw.
Meanwhile, almost all of the parents surveyed said they want to engage more in arty activities with their kids and 72 per cent say they would like their child to be more creative, but don’t know how to teach them.
However, 25 per cent confess they aren’t able to find the time to muck in with kids’ arts and crafts during the week.
Robert Birge, EasyJet’s chief customer officer said: “We’re always looking at ways to make travel easy and enjoyable for families when they fly on their holidays with us, so we’re delighted to be providing arty activities onboard and at the airport to encourage kids get crafty this autumn.
“We’ve loved having Neil as our artist in residence to help bring the joy of creativity as well as all of its wider benefits to our younger flyers.”
