Hackney child rushed to hospital after dog attack

A child has been rushed to hospital with facial injuries after being bitten by a dog at a residential address in Hackney. Police were called to the house on Warwick Grove just after 2.30pm on Friday (April 8) afternoon to reports of a dog attack on a boy.

Upon arrival police found that he had already been taken to hospital. It’s understood the boy was suffering from facial injuries as a result of the attack but is not in a life-threatening condition. Pictures from the scene showed a number of police vehicles in attendance with numerous officers dressed in tactical gear including shields as they made their way into the property.

As of Friday evening police were still in attendance at the property where they were assisting in the removal of the dog involved in the attack.

This comes after several other high profile dog attacks across the country in recent months. In March 17-month-old Bella-Rae Birch died after being mauled by her family’s pet dog in St Helens and three month old Kyra Leanne King died after a dog attack in a Lincolnshire park.
