Hack erases scratches for less than £5 – but everybody is saying the same thing
A VIDEO on TikTok has revealed what looks like a cheap and easy way to get rid of scratches on your car’s bodywork.
However, while the results look great, people are all saying the same thing when you read through the comments.
The video was uploaded by a user named @cleaningwithgabie and starts with her watching another user’s video.
That video suggests mixing coconut oil and white vinegar together and then wiping it on a car’s scratches to erase them.

It then cuts back to @cleaningwithgabie who says: “Let’s try!”
A caption on the video explains what you need: ‘ 2 tbsp white vinegar’ and ‘2 tbps coconut oil.’
As the cloth passes over them they seem to disappear and a later shot of the whole body panel shows a vast improvement.
But not everybody was convinced by the method and took to the comments to ask what happens when it dries.
One person claiming to be a car cleaner said: “Detailer here.
“Unfortunately all this does is fill it with the oil to create an illusion that the scratch is fixed.
Another said: “I tried it! And once it dries or you wash the car they reappear.”
Another said: “I hope y’all know this doesn’t work. When you wash your car and the oil comes off it looks the same again.”
While another person said: “This is what the dealers do.
“That’s why you see scratches on the used car you bought after you wash it.”
