Gwen Stefani’s fans have rushed to her defence after the singer was accused of “being too old to wear so much makeup” in a recent social media post. The singer posted a makeup tutorial on her Instagram page on Saturday as she promoted her GXVE Beauty brand.
Stefani, 53, was advertising a contour product, captioning the tutorial video: “Get the perfect nose contour every time with Pick It Up.”
But some internet haters were not pleased with her look, with one commenting: “You wear entirely too much makeup for your age!”
However, her fans jumped to her defence with one replying to the comment saying she was “beautiful”. Another concurred: “Gwen is beautiful,” as a third wrote, “No such thing as ‘too much makeup’ especially when she’s that age and looks this good!”
A fourth user commented: “It’s so disturbing seeing women on here judging another so viciously. Social media doesn’t give you the wherewithal to come on here and be cruel. Be better.”

Someone else penned: “No such thing as ‘too much makeup’ especially when she’s THAT AGE and looks this good.”
Another said: “She looks amazing no matter if she wears make up or not bit it’s her choice not anyone else’s.”
But a new thread emerged when another user criticised: “She already had a nice nose and wants to contour it to make it look thinner?”
Someone else wrote: “You’re pretty without all of that makeup.”
This follows Thursday, when Gwen was accused of Photoshopping and using fillers in another picture posted to promote her makeup brand, MailOnline reports.
One commented: “Not so much Photoshop, please. That’s not what 50 + year olds look like. All of them have some degree of wrinkles and that is beautiful too. No need to lie.”
Stefani shares her three children – sons Kingston, 17, Zuma, 14, and Apollo, nine – with ex-husband and Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale.
A little over a week ago Stefani and current husband and country singer Blake Shelton were seen jumping on a private plane to head to his Ten Point Ranch in rural Oklahoma.
Later that day Gwen started posting pictures and videos of themselves enjoying the nature surrounding his property – a 2,150 square foot house with four bedrooms on over 1,300 acres in Tishomingo.
The pair have spent more quality time together over the past few weeks following Blake’s run on The Voice coming to a conclusion last month.
They are often at the Oklahoma ranch when they have some spare time in their busy Hollywood lives.
Stefani has admitted she has flourished in country life since she and Shelton got together, even bringing country into her fashion at times.
The ranch is just an hour’s drive from Shelton’s set of lake houses on Lake Texoma, around 40 miles from his Ada, Oklahoma hometown.
The pair confirmed their romance in November 2015 after meeting on The Voice.
They got married at a chapel on Shelton’s ranch in July 2021, which had originally been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
