Gujarat Panchayat Junior Clerk Recruitment 2023: Cancelled exam to be conducted on April 9 – Times of India
The competitive exam for the Panchayat Junior Clerk recruitment which was cancelled a couple of hours before it was scheduled to be held on January 29 due to the paper leak from a coaching centre in Atladra in Vadodara will be conducted on April 9. The exam will begin at 11 am and conclude at 12 pm.
At least 9.53 lakh candidates have registered for the exam for 1,181 posts, which was to be conducted from 11 am on January 29 by the Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB) at 2,995 centres across the state.
After cancelling the exams, the government announced that the examination will be conducted within a period of 100 days. GPSSB on Wednesday instructed the exam centers that were to hold the cancelled exams to be ready for holding exams on April 9. The board has asked these centers to inform the district education officer if their premises are unavailable within the next two days.
Sources said that most of the exam centers were at schools so they have been asked not to schedule any other event on April 9. According to sources, the DEOs have started preparations for holding the exams on instructions of GPSSB. Sources said that mostly the exam centers will remain the same as previously.
Exam for talati cum mantri likely on April 23
Sources said that the state government is likely to conduct a competitive exam to recruit on talati cum mantri positions on April 23. According to sources, there are about 17 lakh eligible candidates in the state who have been waiting for the recruitment of talati cum mantri posts. Sources said that soon after the junior clerk exams get over, schools will have to be ready to provide their premises for these exams too.
