Panaji: The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) on Wednesday conducted 20 departmental promotion committee meetings with various government departments and recommended 50 officials for promotions as well as confirmation.
GPSC chairman Jose Manual Noronha said officers from the directorate of museums were promoted to the positions of curator and conservator. An official was promoted to the position of librarian in the department of art and culture.
In other departments, an official was promoted as assistant director of tourism, while three officials were promoted as assistant divisional officers in the directorate of fire and emergency services.
At the Goa Medical College (GMC), promotions to the positions of assistant professor in physiotherapy and assistant professor in occupational therapy were recommended, while in the law department one official was promoted to the position of civil registrar cum sub-registrar on an officiating basis.
A probationary period and confirmation was recommended for officials of the Goa Dental College, department of higher education, directorate of health services and administrative reforms department.
All departmental promotion committee meetings are chaired by Noronha, while the chief secretary and administrative secretary are members of the committee as per the recruitment rules.
