Speaking at a webinar on ‘Social and Economic Reforms under Modi Government organised by FICCI, Seth said that the finance ministry was working with other ministries, departments and state government to quickly implement the three major reform programmes.
“The national infrastructure pipeline with Rs 111 lakh crore, supplemented by the national monetization plan of Rs 6 lakh crore, coupled with the Gati Shakti vision so that there can be seamless movement of goods and services and employment opportunities. The finance ministry is working with other ministries of the government, with state governments on how to implement these three plans,” he said.
He added that the government has been pushing ahead with reforms despite the pandemic to ensure that the economy bounces back and the potential growth rate is built up.
“We’re on the path of a fast recovery… We look forward in the finance ministry, industry, government partnership, transparent and constructive exchange of ideas, so that we can take forward, and in particular the infrastructure,” he said.
He emphasized that industry partnership would be needed to double the investment into infrastructure from the current 5-6% of GDP.
