Gov’t to streamline processes for businesses

MANILA, Philippines — Government processes will be streamlined for businesses to flourish, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. assured entrepreneurs on Friday.

Marcos likewise pledged to launch programs that would provide Filipinos ample space and resources for their businesses.

“Let me assure you that the government remains dedicated to streamline existing processes and making it easier for businesses to thrive,” he said during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Small and Medium Enterprises Hub at Savya Financial Center in Taguig City.

“We will continue to initiate worthwhile programs to give our kababayans enough space and resources to maintain, start, and even restart their ventures,” he added.

The new financial hub, Marcos stressed, is a space where workers of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can create meaningful opportunities for their ventures.

To further maximize the growth potential of MSMEs, Marcos urged entrepreneurs to take advantage of existing government financial aid and facilities.

MSMEs must also embrace information and communications technology, the president said, for business continuity amid the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to meet the rising demands of businesses and consumers.

Accounting for more than 99.5 percent of the country’s business establishments last year, MSMEs have a potential to drive inclusive economic growth recovery, Marcos said. MSMEs likewise generated more than five million jobs for citizens.

Revitalizing MSMEs is among the Marcos administration’s top priorities.
