Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar is ‘unnecessarily’ delaying government’s work: Mamata Banerjee
“Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has been holding files and thus delaying the state government’s work. He has not been signing the bills on time,” Banerjee told mediapersons, while addressing a press conference after a cabinet meeting.
Banerjee also confirmed that in a cabinet meeting today, it has been approved that the state budget session will start with the Governor’s speech. Recently the governor has raised concern that the file about starting the session has not been approved by the cabinet.
The tussle between the Governor and the state government has continued for a long. Recently, the ruling Trinamool Congress government has planned to bring a Censure motion in the West Bengal Assembly against Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar in the coming Budget session of the state Assembly.
Earlier, on January 25, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had slammed State Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and commented that West Bengal Chief Minister “understanding of the Constitution is lopsided”, while the situation in Bengal is dangerous and “the post-poll violence was unprecedented”
