GOSFORD

BEST BET

Race 7, No.4: POLE POSITION

He won in nice style on debut and the Snowden’s look to have found a nice race for him to continue on in winning style as he goes up in grade with a better gate and winkers on.

NEXT BEST

Race 2, No.1: LEGEND RULES

He will race positive at a track the should suit him. He’s on a quick back up now, third-up and is ready to win with a key rider change in Kerrin McEvoy.

QUADDIE

Race 5: 5, 6

Race 6: 3, 4, 7, 8

Race 7: 4, 5, 6

Race 8: 2, 3, 4, 6

JOCKEY TO WATCH

Dylan Gibbons looks like he can bag a few winners with good rides like Ting Tong, Miss Calculation and Linguee.

ALBURY

BEST BET

Race 8, No.10: WELL IN SIGHT

She couldn’t have been more impressive on debut at this track and Mitchell Beer is keeping her here for start two. She should be able to go on with it after winning with a bit in hand last start.

TRAINER TO WATCH

Local trainer Kym Davison only has one horse going around but Deep Space is one of the more promising looking horses on the card and is looking for his third win in his past three starts.

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR GOSFORD

RACE 5

Miss Calculation gets the good draw and she’s been a consistent type early on and it’s hard to see her running poor here fourth-up. She also ran about four lengths off Paulele early on which is Group 1 form. Mediaro ran above his price on debut when second at Newcastle but he’s now drawn wide which is tricky for an inexperienced horse with the top weight. Tinnie Winnie should be a typical Waller improver second-up off a fair debut run and is better suited over more ground now.

Bet: Miss Calculation to win

RACE 6

Sprout Wings is knocking on the door and has run less than 1 ½ lengths off the winner this time in from four runs. She’s going to go close again. Real Peace drops back in grade from a Midway race and before that has run in even stronger events so this is his chance to win. Kiterro has a strong team behind her and will stay the trip and the wetter the track the better. Dream Maiden is back in grade here and she loves the track and trip and should eat up the 2100m here.

Bet: Quinella 3, 7

RACE 7

The Snowden’s sent Pole Position out to Muswellbrook for a kill on debut and he won in fine style. Rory Hutchings is still on him and from a much better gate as the winkers go on for the first time so expect further improvement. Look for an improved horse when Sea Treasures steps up for preparation two. He’s now a gelding and has trialled up twice. The only issue might be 1200m being too short. Joey’s Chance has raced here twice of late and has been running on well from off the speed and a wet track wouldn’t hurt his chances.

Bet: Pole Position to win

RACE 8

Hellfest is on the rise and hasn’t been knocked around too much so far and looks primed to put in a good run here off a five-week freshen up with a trial in between. Cross Step will stalk the speed with a rider who won on her two weeks ago at Tamworth and she should be one of the strongest on the line. Linguee has a first-up win to her name already and she presents fresh off a 21-week spell and one barrier trial so she looks set to fire here before going up in trip. Kung Fu Mushu will like dropping back to 1200m now and should be looking like the winner at some point.

Bet: Quinella 3, 4

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR ALBURY

RACE 5

Deep Space has won two of his past three and although he has a wide gate, he’s more than capable of jumping and crossing them to take the lead. That’s his style and a 3kg claim only helps him at a distance he should love even though he hasn’t been over it before. Openhimup loves this trip but only has one win from 23 starts with 11 placings so he’s hard to catch. The win however was at this track and he gets barrier one. O’reg is racing here because he loves the track and he’ll get the suck run off the speed and look to pounce late when they’re getting tired.

Bet: Deep Space to win

RACE 6

A weak race. Shecago improved second-up and thrives at this trip but will need luck from the wide gate with an apprentice on. Rivaldo has his best racing still in front of him and he’s been hitting the line well over shorter trips this time in so 1400m looks like a suitable trip to tackle and he should be hidden away off the speed and just needs to get cover from an awkward draw. Dunvegan broke through to win his first race which was coming and although up in grade, it’s not a strong Class 1 and he’s got to be a more confident horse off that win.

Bet: Rivaldo to win

RACE 7

Demanding Mo has won two of his past three and in between ran into a red hot Banju in a Highway but wasn’t disgraced. Mescaminto wasn’t as strong as the punters thought she would’ve been last time but was running off an eight-week break and she should be much fitter for it off and in now two weeks between runs so she could turn the tables on Demanding Mo. Snowbella loves wet tracks and her home venue where she’s won three times and run second twice from five runs so she’ll have support but does need some luck. Tap ‘N’ Run goes well second-up and almost won a Highway last time in and files here.

Bet: Tap ‘N’ Run to win

RACE 8

Well In Sight won on debut but it was the way she won that was most impressive and gives the indication that she’ll handle the step up in grade and extra ground looks to suit her as does a track with give in it. Mortal Witness will push forward and be right on the speed and it should see her in this for a long way but will she be strong at the end? Sinamay wants more ground but shouldn’t be discounted fresh at a track she thrives at and a big fresh performance wouldn’t surprise.

Bet: Well In Sight to win
