Gordon Ramsay might not be known for his sensitivity – in fact, the raging chef broke his own record during his lockdown cooking show Uncharted by swearing more than 300 times. However, when it comes to his daughter, 22-year-old Holly, he has plenty of loving advice, and she isn’t shy about sharing it.
When quizzed during an Instagram Stories Q&A, she revealed the top life tips that the Hell’s Kitchen star has passed down to her.
“One thing that your dad always tells you about life which can help us all grow?” one of her 287,000 followers questioned.
“Work hard, play hard,” she answered.
“Find something you love doing because then it will never feel like work.

She added: “Hold on to small things like family dinners after school and everyone living in the same house because you’ll miss it when you’re older and don’t all live at home – and be in the moment!”
The former fashion design student revealed that she might have inherited her dad’s penchant for putting together masterpieces in the kitchen, boasting on her Q&A that her signature dish is “a pretty mean pesto pasta or bolognese (but only if there’s garlic bread.)”
She added: “@sauce and @tabasco added to everything because they’re my favourite and make everything taste good.”
She plastered some of her comments with 1960s-style flower power illustrations – but, of course, the era’s message of peace, love and passivity isn’t quite the one typically channelled by Gordon when he’s in the kitchen.

Gordon, well-known for his F-bombs and rages when it comes to sharing out the cooking on-screen, certainly has a different side when it comes to his relationship with his children.
The pair have been seen out and about together clasping each other’s hands after Holly shared details of the sexual assaults she endured at age 18.
Holly, now a digital creator whose podcasts share more details on her “mental health journey”, revealed that she has been sober and alcohol-free for a year, warning: “Alcohol and anti-depressants do not mix well at all.”
“This time last year I was at my lowest and I was scared but I made a decision to take control of what I could – and that meant removing alcohol from my life,” she added.
“Living without alcohol has helped me feel better and more present both mentally and physically.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a year of high highs and lows but I’m grateful I have myself the chance to work through them consciously rather mask my feelings (good and bad) with a drink.”
Gordon responded with a compassionate message, writing: “@hollyramsayy what an incredible young lady and words can’t explain enough how proud you make me feel. love you so much, Dad.”
Meanwhile, he is also affectionate with Holly’s younger sister Tilly, 19, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, even publicly defending her after she experienced body-shaming.
