Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford was not impressed watching a Married at First Sight husband admit he was more attracted to other women, suggesting the groom might not be getting lucky anytime soon.
On a recent episode of the Australian series, the infamous photo ranking challenge was back, and things unsurprisingly got pretty tense.
The task sees the couples asked to rank the other men and women on the reality series based on how attracted they are to them.
Brutally, each person’s husband or wife are watching on as it all goes down, and while you would have thought that by now people would instantly put their partners at the top of the list, some took their time figuring out their choices.
It was ruthless commentary from Shannon, 30, that the Gogglebox cast were shown, and they did not hold back on what they thought of his behaviour.
In the clip, Shannon gleefully exclaimed he felt like the task was a ‘real life Tinder’, before adding that he ‘eats with my eyes’.
Putting a woman other than his wife to the top of the list, he said she would be ‘one that would impress your mates’, much to the annoyance of his wife Caitlin who was standing right beside him.
As Pete so perfectly put it: ‘You’re married now mate, you probably shouldn’t be on Tinder. Look at it like that.’
Others also had plenty to say, with Pete’s sister Sophie adding: ‘Impress your mates? She’s not a new car.’
Meanwhile Abbie Lynn said if she was in the same position she would be ‘absolutely fuming’.
While Shannon seemed to be redeeming himself by placing his wife in his equal ‘top three’ as the task came to a close, he then pushed her further down to the total shock of the couch critics.
Things got worse after he Shannon said he had seen his wife ‘without makeup’, but that she had the ‘potential to just level up’ if she put in some more effort.
‘Their natural beauty shines more than yours,’ he added.
Apparently not wanting to be dishonest that he was willing to make his wife feel even worse, Shannon added he didn’t want to put her second to simply ‘be nice’.
After moving her down, most of the Gogglebox cast couldn’t believe what they were seeing, with some even yelling at the TV.
‘He’s just digging himself an even bigger hole now,’ Pete said.
‘What is he doing?’
He added: ‘Somehow I don’t think they will be having sex anytime soon.’
Although she was just as annoyed at Shannon as the rest of Gogglebox group, Ellie Warner said that she might understand his reasoning if they’d been further along in their relationship.
‘The thing is they are in a new relationship, but when you’re six years deep like me and Nat (Eddleston, her partner) and you’ve seen too much, I wouldn’t be surprised if he rated someone more attractive than me,’ she told her sister Izzi.
‘I mean, he’s washed my knickers for me.’
Her sister added: ‘Say no more.’
This season of MAFS has provided as much drama as ever, with one bride discovering on her wedding day her new husband was dating just days before starting the experiment, while a loved-up couple found out they were actually distantly related.
