Gogglebox viewers did not hold back when watching a recent episode of Starstruck, panning the make-over of Sir Tom Jones impersonators.

On the season return of the reality show, the couch critics were back to dish out their opinions on the shows that have recently hit our screens.

But when it came to tuning into the Olly Murs hosted talent show, many of them struggled to hold it together.

In the episode three contestants, Mark, Steve and Mel, were transformed into Sir Tom to sing his 1965 hit It’s Not Unusual.

Although some of the Goggleboxers commented on how handsome the singer was today, aged 82, they were caught off guard when the makeovers happened.

When it came to the reveal, many absolutely lost it by what they saw.

‘Oh my gosh,’ Danielle exclaimed, while Amira recoiled and could only muster a ‘oh wow, oh wow’, but later used some colourful words, clearly wondering what she was seeing.

Lee actually spat out what he was eating in shock and then burst out laughing, while Helena questioned whether one of the men was now wearing lip gloss.

However, Pete was the one to comment that the transformations hadn’t quite hit the mark.

‘He looks like Jackie Chan,’ he said of one of the men.

‘They looked more like Tom Jones before they got made over than they do now,’ Helena added.

Tremaine added: ‘I hope their singing is a lot better than their makeover.’

Those watching along at home echoed the same sentiments.

‘These roasts are so funny,’ one wrote.

Unfortunately, the trio didn’t do too well, and were eliminated when pitted against the other three teams, who impersonated Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Chaka Kan.

This season of Starstruck has seen the return of host Olly Murs, as well as Beverley Knight, Jason Manford and Adam Lambert on the judging panel, who have been joined by new judge Shania Twain.

The programme features ordinary members of the public as they’re transformed into their favourite singers.

Contestants are divided into four teams of three, battling it out to secure a spot in the final and the chance to win a cash price of £50,000.

Starstruck airs on Saturdays at 8.30 pm on ITV1 and is streaming on ITVX.

Gogglebox continues Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
