Goalkeeper Brynn buzzing to join Leyton Orient on season loan
Brynn joined Boro’s academy at the age of nine and progressed through their ranks before loan spells at Darlington and Scottish side Queen of the South.
He enjoyed a successful season-long loan at Swindon Town in 2022-23, taking the Player of the Season award after being ever-present.
Brynn featured in a pair of 1-1 draws against the League Two champions and told the club website: “I’m delighted to be here, it’s been a long time coming and I’m buzzing it’s finally completed.
“I played against Orient twice last year and they were unbelievable, I wanted to be a part of it.
“I’m always looking to test myself. I’m a shot-stopper and love making saves.
“I’ve heard a lot about Roycey and how good of a goalkeeping coach and a bloke that he is, and the gaffer’s record speaks for himself.”
Brynn joins fellow keepers Sam Howes and Rhys Byrne at Brisbane Road, following Lawrence Vigouroux’s move to Premier League new boys Burnley.
And coach Simon Royce added: “We’re delighted that we’ve got Sol in. We’ve been chasing him for a while, and for him to want to come to us speaks volumes about what we’re doing here.
“He had a fantastic season last year with Swindon, who didn’t have the best year themselves. Sol’s stats were at the top end of the division for goalkeepers, and he was always our number one target.
“Sol’s had a good 10 days training with his parent club Middlesbrough in Portugal, so he’s fit and ready and we can’t wait to see him in action.”
O’s play their second pre-season friendly against League One rivals Charlton in Spain on Friday.
