Go Ghana Party in the Park Go!
Veteran rapper Sarkodie is handling the creative direction along with the likes of Yaw Tog, Kofi Jamar, Amerado, and D-Black. Expect more great sounds too from Highlife crooner Kwabena Kwabena, Afropop artists S3fa, Camidoh, Gyakie, and Mr Drew. The festival, as renowned for its fashion shows, cultural dancers and traditional Ghanaian food as its musical repertoire, has grown massively since its birth in 2005, and after two years off is back with a bang. Usually attracting over 8000 people, this is set to be one of London’s first festivals since the capital opened up.
Supported by the Ghana High Commission UK and Ireland and hosted by marketing company Akwaaba, its UK chief executive Dennis Tawiah said he wanted to assure visitors the event had been properly planned with all the security and health requirements in place.
“We want to focus on a festival feel as the theme with more add-ons,” he also explained.
“This is an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and other traditional attributes as well as creating the enabling environment for all attendees to interact, network and have fun. We are going to give patrons another memorable and unforgettable experience.”
