Good Morning Britain faced a spot of chaos on Friday morning, with Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard forced to apologise for technical problems.
The pair revealed as the show started that someone in the studio had spilt a cup of coffee on the mixing desk, resulting in slides appearing at the wrong times.
Beginning the show, Ben admitted: ‘We have an issue,’ before asking Kate: ‘Have you been in the gallery?’
‘What, because everything’s going wrong?’ she asked.
‘Someone’s spilt something on our mixing desk and one of the buttons keeps getting stuck. So every now and again, strange things will appear on the screen,’ he revealed.
Proving Ben’s point, a news slide popped up too early, with the star being quick to blame his co-presenter.
Kate insisted it was nothing to do with her, but revealed something very similar happened when she began at Smooth radio, with the star managing to pour an entire vanilla latte over the mixing desk.
Thankfully, Charlotte Hawkins was on the case, with the star dubbing herself ‘Mrs Hinch’ and heading off to clean up the desk during an ad break, which appeared to solve the problem.

It’s not the first time GMB has suffered a spot of technical difficulties, with viewers previously being shown the wrong news update.
Meanwhile, although the programme usually continues over the festive period, this time it was decided that GMB would not air over the Christmas week due to Covid-19 fears.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘This is all but unheard of, to lose a whole week of a flagship show like this. It just shows how alarmed everyone is within the network and on the show itself.
‘We even aired throughout the height of the pandemic, but lately it is becoming near impossible with staffing shortages and fears about the Christmas period being derailed for everyone.
‘Hopefully things will get back to normal early in the New Year – it’s a big blow for the network, and for advertising too.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
