Gmail Help Me Write feature comes to THESE iPhone and Android users
Google announced ‘Help me write’ feature for Gmail at its annual developer conference in May this year. The feature uses Google’s advanced machine learning algorithms to generate a full draft of the email within seconds.
According to a report by 9to5Google, the feature is now rolling out to enrolled users in the Workspace Labs program on both Gmail on Android and iOS. Till now, it was available for desktop users only.
Google has created a support page, offering instructions on how to use the feature. Users can simply tap on the compose button on their phone. If you have enrolled in the Workspace Labs program, you will see the Help me Write option at the bottom of your phone’s screen. Tap on it and enter the prompt. For example – an email that asks for a full refund. Hit on create, and a full draft will appear in front of you.
You can edit or modify the email if you wish to. Gmail users can also give feedback on the generated text.
Gmail’s Help me Write feature is similar to Smart Reply feature, except it is more refined and advanced. To recall, Google launched the Smart Reply feature to Gmail in 2017. The feature offers short responses that one could select with just one click. Next came Smart Compose, which offered writing suggestions as one type in the email. “Smart Compose led to more advanced writing features powered by AI. They’ve been used in Workspace over 180 billion times in the past year alone,” the company said.
In a similar news, Google announced that it will introduce two innovative artificial intelligence-based functionalities for advertisers. These features will utilize AI algorithms to autonomously identify the most optimal ad placements for brands across Google’s various services. Google is introducing a new feature called Demand Gen, which will utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to strategically position photo and video ads for advertisers across various products, including Gmail, the YouTube feed, and Shorts—a short-form video platform competing with TikTok.
