Glastonbury punters deliver epic one-liners overheard at festival
The main action at Glastonbury may be going down on stage, but plenty of punters have also been delivering memorable moments from Worthy Farm.
The festival kicked off on Friday and was jam-packed with headline-grabbing events including the epic surprise set from Foo Fighters, as well as the Artic Monkeys lighting up the Pyramid Stage for their much-anticipated headline set.
While Saturday’s line-up includes acts like Rick Astley, Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo and Guns N’ Roses, before they hit the stage festivalgoers have already received plenty of attention themselves for attention-grabbing actions.
One of the most epic came from a guy who decided to go all out and bring his double bed to ensure he got a good night’s rest while camping, hiking it six miles in the sun, a decision many people branded as ‘legendary’.
For those who missed out on tickets to the festival, they may be sitting jealously at home or breathing a sigh of relief they aren’t being charged an arm and a leg for food and drinks while watching their favourite act, but those who are there are offering a hilarious insight into how their own experiences are going.
Here is our round-up of the hilarious remarks that have been overheard so far….
‘Sorry who hates The Smiths?! You hate The Smiths?? Who hates The Smiths! I hate Morrissey but who hates The Smiths?!’
‘I HAVE JUST SAT DOWN ON CURRY AND CHIPS’
Overhead, stumbling back on the walkways after what was assumed a day of walking around 30,000 steps: ‘Oh my god, the pain’
A bunch of girls during Kelis’ performance: ‘BILL MURRAY!!! WHERES BILL MURRAY?!’
Overheard in the shower queue: ‘Hey my eyebrows move now. Last time I just had Botox and I couldn’t move my eyebrows but my eyebrows move now’
The clean-up crew at the showers: ‘Here we go, s*** in the shower. Had this last year too’
More to come …
Glastonbury 2023 is streaming live on BBC iPlayer.
